The Old White Beare was originally built as an alehouse and farmhouse in 1533 on the Old Packhorse track running between Halifax and Leeds, and our award winning bar proudly continues this legacy.

With a warm and friendly atmosphere centred around our gleamingly polished bar, art from the local art society for sale on the walls, and an award winning selection of drinks to explore, you can see why The Old White Beare is still at the heart of the community almost 5 centuries later.

As winners of the prestigious Cask Marque award it is now official that we pull the perfect pint, but we also carry over 40 wines from around the world and hold a magnificent collection of whiskies. No matter what your favourite tipple is, you can enjoy the taste while also soaking up the history.
